'All Aboard The Uni Train' - April 2014.

I stumbled upon a post that I had written, but not shared about both my thoughts and feelings surrounding moving to university in September 2014. I found this really interesting to read, especially as it is now the end of my first year at university and I am eager to update my blog regularly and use it as a more makeup-heavy creative space to share some of my views. I'll share this little segment 18-year old Zoë wrote with you and will definitely make a new one of these once I receive my results on Friday!

"So, April comes, April goes. May, June, July, August, BOURNEMOUTH.

Give it a few months and I'll be heading all the way to Bournemouth to start my Foundation Art year at AUB University! Ahh!

Going to university is going to be a big step, it's inevitable. Going from being down the road from the friends you've known for years, to being in a single-room set up full of aliens you've never met before. I say aliens because I really want to meet one, much like I really want to meet some new people, new faces and new personalities. I am such a people person. From mindlessly people-watching at work, to being the only person talking to anyone whilst waiting for an interview (honestly). I'm going to Bournemouth to do a year in preparation for higher education, a foundation in art. This basically is a year, trying out new styles, new techniques and new ways of working with art. But what do I really know? Anything could happen in the next year. What I do know is that I can't explain just how excited I am to be going - I don't even feel nervous at all (yet)! I'm sure it'll hit me at some point, but until then we have to move on to more important things.

I'm going to be given my own brand new room, en-suite (possibly with a kitchen). A white space. A blank canvas. The inner artist in me is literally jumping at the chance to decorate and make it completely 'Zoë'.

Today, I took a little trip out with my Mumma and picked up a few little bits to take with me! Eeeek! It really makes it feel real... and surreal at the same time!"

Thanks for reading, good luck with whatever you choose to do, and remember - everything in life happen for a reason!
Best wishes, Zoë xxx
