The 31st of October

As you all know very well, I love Halloween. The pure reason being I can dress up, blood and gore, distressed wedding dress or Frankenstein suit and feel so at home producing a body of makeup which I can proudly walk around in. This year, typical me, I took it even further. Moving away from last year’s attempts at costumes using paper and eyelash glue, I had already invested in creating a little prosthetic kit filled with latex, sponges and some lovely pigmented bruise wheels earlier in the year. Obviously I was a little excited (little being an understatement) and wanted to create something awesome for the 31st this year.

I had three main events (lucky me!) that I dressed up for this year. One was a last minute party in which I threw together a quick ‘Monster Pumpkin Scarecrow’ look and was out of the house within an hour of starting it. The second, a slightly toned down quirky ‘Zombie Pig’ costume that I wore to work on the night of Halloween. The third is the most proud I’ve ever been about a costume in all my life. This one was my ‘Burnt Little Girl’ look. Ahh! All my friends LOVED it, and I felt so so so confident wearing it, which is pretty sad actually that I feel waay more confident dressed up like that than in my normal skin. Oh well. (It also got a lot of likes on Instagram and Twitter so I was over the moon!).

You see, for me makeup isn't just a mask it's a body and a character that you step into, whether it be for a day, a few hours or even a few minutes. But the way it transforms you is so overwhelming. Look above. Three images, it's me in all three, but all three are so unique and so different - all down to makeup.
